Winning elections in 2025 will protect voting rights and generate momentum for 2026.
Normally under-the-radar, this fall’s retention election for the state Supreme Court in Pennsylvania has high stakes and MAGA attention. Justice Kevin Dougherty detailed the Court’s pivotal role in protecting voting rights, ending gerrymandering, and protecting abortion rights. Diana Robinson of Make the Road Pennsylvania impressed us with her plans for informing under-represented voters about the upcoming judicial election and protecting immigrants by educating them.
Turning to the midterms in 2026, Janelle Stelson showed us that she has the energy and determination it will take to fight – and win – against Scott Perry for the US House.
We rounded off the evening with a call for volunteers for the governor and House of Delegates races in Virginia. These campaigns are in high gear now! (See our Calendar.) And, of course, we offered our advice on the best destinations for you donation dollars right now. See below!

Vote Yes for Fair and Independent PA Courts: Retain three Democrat-endorsed Supreme Court justices and help protect voting rights.

Virginia’s 2025 statehouse and governor elections will be viewed as a referendum on Trump and the Republican’s MAGA-fueled agenda. We are all-in to flip the govenorship and hold the Dem majority in the House of Delegates.
We’re recommending a list of highly competitive statehouse candidates. We also urge you to support our grassroots allies, New Virginia Majority and Casa in Action, as they build community and turn out underrepresented voters. Your dollars will make a difference!

Help elect progressive candidate Judge Susan Crawford to the WI Supreme Court. (Objective achieved on April 1.)
Defeat the Big Brutal Budget bill. (It broke our hearts to lose this one.)
Elect Democrats to the Virginia House of Delegates and elect Abigail Spanberger to be the next Governor of VA. (See the action opportunites on our calendar and the donation opportunities above.)
Retain a liberal majority on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court - 3 seats are at stake in 2025. (Come to our September 16 meeting to learn more!)
Prepare to win back the US House in 2026. (Pennsylvania is ground zero—come to our September 16 meeting!)
Oppose the tsunami of undemocratic actions pushed by the the current administration. (See our weekly bulletins.)
